About Us
Daiku is an ethical accessories brand based in Cambodia showcasing Indigenous artisans from North-East of Cambodia and their handmade creations. Every Daiku item is thoughtfully handcrafted by indigenous women, using high-quality sustainable materials.
We are dedicated to connecting the world to sustainable ethical production, therefore our products are 100% handmade in Cambodia. By combining the indigenous Tampuan women’s weaving techniques with modern design, Daiku has been able to create a new collection of beautiful accessories.
The name Daiku came from the Khmer/Tampuan word, “daiku,” which means companionship or partnership in the local language. Choosing the local word “daiku” as our brand name reflects our dedication to working in partnership with local women to preserve the indigenous cultures from North East Cambodia and creating dignified job opportunities through the promotion of these traditional art forms.

Artisans
Daiku partners with indigenous women weavers from Tampuan villages in Ratanakiri to preserve the cultural heritage of their unique weaving practices. Daiku products are hand-woven by Tampuan weavers in 5 villages in Ratanakiri.
All products are unique pieces hand-made over several days with traditional methods used over hundreds of years. Each woman has her own distinctive way of weaving, using one or several of the indigenous patterns strongly connected to their traditional way of life.
The traditional weaving techniques have been passed for generations from grandmothers and mothers to their daughters. Traditionally, most girls would be taught weaving in their early to mid-teens, before getting married. Even today, their textile weaving techniques have not changed.

Ethical Brand
Daiku connects with socially responsible consumers who are seeking sustainable alternatives to mass-produced clothing and accessories. We are dedicated to changing the way people shop. Our goal is to support the creativity, craftsmanship and passion of Cambodian indigenous artisans while preserving their culture and traditions.
At Daiku, you know where your goods are coming from, how they are made and exactly who made them. We share with you the true story behind each item, including the artisans’ history. The traditional technique used to craft every piece is our way of empowering our artisan partners and giving them a voice.
Daiku pays fair wages to the weaving and leather-making artisans. In addition, 20% from each sale goes into a Daiku Girls’ Education Fund set up by our team to provide educational material, mentoring and education support for indigenous girls living in the villages our weavers come from.
